What happened to MyNutShare?

So, what have happened to MyNutShare? Well, to be fair: NOTHING!

I started the whole “build with me” series and about halfway through I stopped, as you might have seen.

And to be fair I am not too sure what will happen with this page ūüôā I mean … I might keep documenting my journey but in a different format. Well, guess will how things turn out. If you have any suggestions what you might be most interested in, please feel free to reach out.
Also not too sure whether I’ll keep in English or swap it to German…

You can tell … there are many, many open questions.

Disclaimer: This post is NOT about spiritual¬†Gurus but business speakers who call themselves “Gurus”.

I am currently reading the book “The Millionaire Fastlane”. If you haven’t heard of it yet get your hands on it quickly. The author makes a point to double check how financial guru’s have accumulated their wealth. Did they do so in¬†the way they are teaching us or¬†somehow differently?

It’s worth taking some time to think about and analyse some Guru stuff. It has blown my mind.

What’s wrong with a business Guru?

The definition of a Guru is “an influential teacher or popular expert”. OK, that’s great¬†but who proofs whether what is prayed and taught is valid? How do we know that their claimed expert status is given? Is it real because of a best selling number of books (and because of the work of their marketing team)?¬†When someone is nominated as a Guru this implies that this person “own the field”. Leading expert. But we are all unique, right? And disruption and innovation can only exist when we try out new ways. When we do things differently.

Why not stick with role models?

Rather than copying a style of a Guru we could also pick a couple of people we admire as our role models. This way we would simply diversify our “admiration portfolio” and could pick what we love most about this person, the idea, the style … And we would keep the freedom to actually enrich¬†our personal uniqueness with single features and do not try to transform into someone else. And none of us wants to be a copycat anyways, right?

BWM 53/100 – Minimalism and Entrepreneurship

I am not a naturally born minimalist. Not at all. However, I moved houses roughly 19x since I was born. I lived in 8 cities and 2 countries. You can probably imagine that having too much stuff makes it pretty hard to move that often.
But I did – I decluttered a lot before every move but I still bought new stuff. Since I moved abroad, to the UK, I had to get rid of a lot of stuff. Most of the houses in London are furnished. Therefore we do not really earn a lot furniture.

That’s already a pretty decent declutter when you can move without heavy furniture.

Marie Kondo – The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying

But it still didn’t feel like “enough”. Enough in the sense having enough declutter, having less.

While I was in London I started reading the Marie Kondo’s¬†book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying: A simple, effective way to banish clutter forever”. It’s an inspiring, simply readable book on how to declutter your life. To only keep the pieces you love, need or that spark joy.

It’s an amazing read but I still didn’t not fully click. I wasn’t ready to get rid of everything – especially not some paperwork and makeup.

Entrepreneurship and Minimalism

Since I was thinking about starting my own company there were a lot of thoughts in my head. Before I actually started my company a couple of weeks ago my husband and me moved houses in spring. We again, got rid of a lot of stuff. I believe we created a gorgeous, loving home.
But¬†it’s since I work full-time on my startup that I feel my mind is packed with so much stuff that¬†I¬†simply want¬†to get rid of so much more clutter. I want to be surrounded by less. I do not want to spend time tidying up stuff.

Therefore I am thinking about giving minimalism a chance. The good thing about minimalism is there is not a too hard definition or any right or wrong.

Is there any one else thinking about giving minimalism a chance? With being aware that a startup is super time consuming I would not like to make too many “hard changes” just now. But get rid of¬†stuff that I hope will be¬†beneficial regarding a¬†declutter of my mind¬†by tidying and decluttering further my¬†surroundings.

BWM 51/100 – Seth Godins’ Purple Cow

I love listening to¬†audiobook ¬†when I work out. For me working out is me-time. Depending on the workout I sometimes listen to music but I prefer audiobooks. Most of the time non-fictional ones. I also do this when I commute.¬†I then tend to listen to audiobooks that are not to “heavy on my thinking” but are super engaging.

Today I started Purple Cow.

And so far I am absolutely loving this book. Purple Cow is not a newly published book at all but the thinking seems to be as up to date as possible.

This book is about “how to create remarkable products” – purple cows. Things become boring over time. Therefore products that catch attention in this new, totally packed and overcrowded space called internet need to be different.

As an entrepreneur this topic is super relevant. But also for everyone who either wants to build his / her own personal brand and all the marketers out there.

Book Summary

With all the posting in this BWM series and while building SalesTrainerIn Ltd I haven’t posted any book summaries recently but will probably do this in a while. Simply because I believe this is the best way for me to recap what I actually read and summarise the key takeaways. And for you to save you some time and make an informed decision whether you would like to invest your time and money to pick up the book yourself.

BWM 50 – Equal Odds Rule – Entrepreneur Magazine

Today I read an article by Entrepreneur magazine. (You can access the article here.) ¬†This article was in the category “habits”. I am a massive fan of forming habits and creating routines. This article was introducing the “Equal Odds Rule”.

Equal Odds Rule

The key message of this rule in the bigger picture is¬†“if you want to make a masterpiece, you have to be willing to create a little garbage along the way”. Love it!¬†Flawlessly on fleek.

Why I get so excited? Because it’s an absolute destress! Everyone who is working creatively – and many of us do. Especially when we are on the entrepreneurial journey.The equal odds rule simply means that the likelihood of creating¬†a successful piece that eventually goes viral can be increased by simply creating more (high value) content. The more the merrier.

Do not spam!

Apparently we are talking about high value content. Spamming people with unneeded, bad content is definitely not the the expected outcome. Except you want to create a massive shitstorm. But I doubt this is what you want. Therefore content is key and as you probably can’t really influence which piece of content eventually goes viral you want to create only masterpieces.

10x rule

I guess one reason why I absolutely love this approach is because it is in line with the 10x rule. This massive action approach buys into the same concept to fight obscurity. To make some noise in the massive and packed world of the www.

Sometimes it has to be no more rarara but more work ethic. Sometimes we don’t need any more motivation but simply need to take (more) action.

I’ll keep it short and am sorry for having not posted the last days. I delivered a leadership development workshop in english over the weekend and worked the other days relentlessly to get my offers out. Therefore today a short post and a video via Gary Vee!

Fear – I guess this is a big one. Everyone who has ever tried something new has experienced fear. Everyone who has ever stepped out his or her comfort zone has felt scared. I believe maybe everyone who has started the entrepreneurial journey has experienced fears at one point or another.

I certainly know that I did. For a pretty long time. I was scared to start my own company. To start from scratch. To take full responsibility.

The fear to start

I guess the biggest fear I had was to actually start. It took me a while from deciding I would like to start my own company to¬†actually¬†start my own company. But it wasn’t done with that step. Having a company and still being full-time employed did simply not feel right. But with having done the step of picking a name, registering the company, having a website published I forced myself into getting real.

And while doing so I still scared. I am still am. Everyday is new adventure. But at some point my desire to work full-time on my dream was simply bigger than my fear. The desire and purpose simply overweight my fears. And then everything just happened…

Where the magic happens…

The magic does not happen in our comfort zones. It’s a cosy, beautiful place but to spark the magic we need to grow. This is what I truly believe. And starting from¬†the moment I was totally bought into my idea the magic became feasible. The moment I was totally certain that I can do it, the fear backed off. The moment I was committed to this project and truly believed in myself other people started believing in me.

I mean, certainly the journey is still super fresh and there is still fear. And a lot of overwhelming but there is no more doubt on the big thing.

Action mode

For me getting into action mode, which started right after full commitment there were simply no more room for too many fears. A bit of risk aversion and stuff is alright. And you certainly do not want to become blind for risks and errors and all this stuff. Simply to avoid massive failure. But with throwing yourself into action you can change fears into seizable risks. Those sizeable risks are manageable.
And I guess this is one of the most rewarding things just now. To know I am no longer hiding but am taking action. Taking full responsibility and continuously stepping out of my comfort zone.

The truth is I believe everything that scares us is a pretty good sign to have a closer look. Because if something can cause such a strong emotion like fear it might be a dream that is truly important to you.

Don’t give up! ūüôā When I can step up to my fears, you can too!
